ST. ANDREWS CHURCH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH & SCHOOL
SAN ANTONIO, TX
In 2016, this once thriving church nestled within the fabric of a residential community, was about to close its doors due to declining members and a degrading campus. However, a new breath of life was interjected into the church and it had a resurgence of membership and attendance. This resurgence allowed for the church and pre-school to make some much-needed improvements to the campus and facilities.
Working alongside Latitude Architects, Rialto Studio assisted the project by providing Campus Master Planning services to identify deficiencies with the current campus and set forth a new vision for the future.
Rialto Studio also participated in Phase 1 of the campus renovation. This included addressing pedestrian site circulation, building facility upgrades, perimeter fencing for school security, a prayer wall, new landscaping, and irrigation. The crown jewel of the project was the redevelopment of the large central courtyard that includes a new playground with a focus on nature play, lush planting under large shade trees, and open flex space lawn.
