SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANK

SAN ANTONIO, TX

The San Antonio Food Bank provides food and grocery items for 16 communities in the Southwest Texas area. In order to keep up with fresh produce and food storage, expansion was needed. In 2014, the facility expansion included the Harvey Najim Children's Pavilion and 20 acres of farmland adjacent to it.

Rialto Studio worked with the design team to create an easily accessible, modern atmosphere in a farm-like setting. The planting concept was very simple, utilizing different types of grasses and decomposed granite to keep the site clean and easily maintained. Rialto Studio also participated in the renovation of the landscape at the existing facility and helped to create visual consistency between the two spaces.
