CUERO THOROUGHFARE

The City of Cuero's new Thoroughfare project aims to enhance downtown accessibility by converting a vacant Art-Deco building into a public thoroughfare that connects Main Street shops and restaurants to a nearby parking lot. The renovation includes creating wide openings for a landscaped walkway that functions as a narrow urban park, reintroducing transom windows, and restoring the interior with a pressed metal ceiling and new lighting. This space will host community events, reduce heat through a reflective roof, and feature large oak trees for shade.
