SAN ANTONIO, TX

Located along the San Antonio River, a series of street level pedestrian plazas link the public roadways to a multipurpose trail system offering miles of recreational and passive activities.

Rialto designed each of these unique plazas with common materials and design elements.  Curving low stone walls steer pedestrians through the space, special native stone paving delineate the transition of the spaces, and native plantings create relief from the stark roadways.  Planting materials were specifically selected due to their low maintenance and low water consumption characteristics.  Each of the plazas also includes a location for future art installations.
