Multiple buildings enfold a multifunctional courtyard in San Antonio’s master-planned RidgeWood Business Park. Carefully nestled among preserved trees, the space creates a pleasant arrival and exiting experience between office buildings and a parking garage. An outdoor patio extends the indoor break room, offering users a shady and peaceful place to enjoy lunch or a break. A larger, open patio and an event lawn extend conference rooms outdoors for gatherings. Water features, utilizing air conditioning condensate, provides tranquil sounds while also enabling users to have a private conversation or call. Custom shade structures and a mix of seating options provide comfort for users, while special paving subtly directs foot traffic. A dry creek bed and plantings conceal utilities and the underground storm sewer. The entire space is lighted to allow use and enhance safety after dark. Rialto Studio was integral to the site planning, and also provided design and construction administrative services for the site and building entries and courtyard, including hardscape, landscape lighting, planting and irrigation.
